"PEPA PO'OLEKA O HAWAI'I"
|
|
Pau rider on 1910 Mid-Pacific Carnival postcard. |
The Hawaiian word for postcard is "Pepa Po'oleka". The Hawai'i Postcard Club was formed on January 5th 1997 but was disbanded on December 31 2001 - another victim of Ebay. These webpages are being left up for the benefit of collectors.
Postcards were only introduced into Hawai'i in 1897. Click here for a fairly complete list of Hawai'i Picture Postcard Publishers from 1897-1960. |
Note that all used Hawai'i postcards have to be repatriated from elsewhere in the world as no picture postcards were usually sent within the islands. |
